CERTIFIED EVIDENCE-BASED NUTRITIONIST

VETERAN SHIFT WORKER

I am the founder of A Healthy Shift and a veteran 24/7 shift worker of over four decades.

I worked in law enforcement in Melbourne, Australia until August, 2024.

I have two adult children, aged 31 and 29, also 24/7 shift workers, both working in emergency services.

I understand shift work and it’s impacts mentally, physically and on your home life.

After performing shift work for almost four decades, I’ve identified issues with the health and well-being of shift workers. I returned to study nutrition to educate myself and combine my experience of shift work with an evidence-based practice in nutrition.

Certified Nutritionist – Shift-Work, Health and Wellbeing Coach

I’m an MNU-Certified Nutritionist and am insured to practise. I graduated from Mac-Nutrition Uni (MNU), the internationally recognised gold standard evidence-based school of nutrition.

My peers and mentors in the field of evidence-based nutrition continually monitor and assess my practice.

Predominantly coaching females has allowed me to broaden my knowledge around female health, including polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and general health around the menstrual cycle.

I can confidently detect disordered eating in clients. I have completed the Binge Eating Essentials for Health Professionals course by Dr Jake Linardon, which means I understand binge eating and contributing factors to eating disorders.

You will not be at risk being coached by me.

I improve how clients feel about themselves without focusing on changing how they look. I have been mentored by Shannon Beer (expert in body image, intentional and Intuitive Eating) for 6 months and have completed the Body Image Fundamentals course.

I can confidently support clients improve their body image.

I decipher what science tells us and apply it into your shift working world.

My shift-working clients are having enormous success with simple exercise and lifestyle tweaks combined with nutritional strategies around shift work.
